GPS (United States)
GPS, or Global Positioning System, is a satellite-based navigation system developed by the United States. It consists of a network of satellites orbiting the Earth that transmit signals to GPS receivers. By calculating the time it takes for these signals to reach the receiver, GPS can determine your exact location (latitude, longitude, and altitude) anywhere on the planet. This technology is widely used in various applications, from navigation in cars and smartphones to tracking wildlife and guiding aircraft. GPS is one of several systems that make up the broader category of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
