Glucose Tolerance Test
A Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) measures how well your body processes sugar. After fasting overnight, you drink a sugary liquid, and then your blood sugar levels are tested at intervals. This helps assess how effectively your body uses insulin to absorb glucose from your bloodstream. The test is commonly used to diagnose diabetes or prediabetes. A healthy response typically shows blood sugar levels rising slightly and then returning to normal within a couple of hours. Abnormal results may indicate your body isn’t managing sugar properly, signaling the need for further evaluation or lifestyle changes.
