Giardiasis

Giardiasis is an infection caused by a tiny parasite called Giardia, which often lives in contaminated water. People can become infected by drinking unclean water, eating contaminated food, or getting the parasite through contact with infected individuals. Symptoms typically include diarrhea, stomach cramps, bloating, and nausea. While it is usually not serious, it can cause prolonged discomfort. Treatment often involves medications that eliminate the parasite. To prevent giardiasis, it's important to drink safe water, practice good hygiene, and wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
