lambliasis

Lambliasis, caused by the parasite Giardia lamblia, is an intestinal infection that spreads through contaminated food, water, or surfaces. It leads to symptoms like diarrhea, greasy or floating stools, stomach cramps, and nausea. The parasite attaches to the lining of the small intestine, disrupting normal digestion and absorption of nutrients. It is common in areas with poor sanitation and can be treated effectively with specific antibiotics or antiparasitic medications. Good hygiene practices, such as washing hands and properly treating drinking water, help prevent infection. Most people recover fully with appropriate treatment, but ongoing hygiene is key to avoiding reinfection.
