Gestational Carrier

A gestational carrier, often referred to as a surrogate, is a woman who carries and gives birth to a baby for another person or couple who are unable to do so themselves. In this arrangement, the carrier is not genetically related to the baby; instead, the embryo is created using the egg and sperm of the intended parents or donors through methods like in vitro fertilization (IVF). After the baby is born, the gestational carrier relinquishes parental rights, and the intended parents take over.
