Gestational Surrogate

A gestational surrogate is a woman who carries and gives birth to a baby for another individual or couple who cannot conceive or carry a pregnancy themselves. In this process, the surrogate is not genetically related to the baby; instead, the egg and sperm from the intended parents (or donors) are combined through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to create an embryo, which is then implanted in the surrogate's uterus. This arrangement often involves legal agreements and is considered a way to help people experience parenthood when traditional methods of conception are not possible.
