Genetic Selection

Genetic selection is the process of choosing specific organisms for breeding based on desirable traits, such as health, size, or yield. In agriculture, farmers may select the best crops or livestock to produce stronger offspring. In nature, animals and plants with advantageous traits are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing those traits to the next generation. This natural process, known as natural selection, helps species adapt to their environments over time. Genetic selection, whether artificial or natural, plays a key role in evolution and improving biodiversity and agricultural productivity.
