Front de Libération Nationale (FLN)
The Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) is a political and military organization that fought for Algeria's independence from French colonial rule, which lasted over 130 years. Established in 1954, the FLN initiated a guerrilla warfare campaign, leading to a brutal conflict known as the Algerian War of Independence. The group's efforts gained significant support from the Algerian population and international communities, ultimately resulting in Algeria gaining independence in 1962. Following independence, the FLN became the ruling party of Algeria, shaping the country's political landscape for decades.
