Foucault Pendulum

The Foucault Pendulum is a simple yet powerful demonstration of Earth's rotation. It consists of a long, heavy pendulum that swings freely in any direction. As it swings, the Earth rotates beneath it, causing the pendulum's plane of swing to appear to change over time. This phenomenon illustrates the rotation of our planet, with the rate of change depending on the pendulum's location—faster at the poles and slower at the equator. Named after French scientist Léon Foucault, it elegantly shows a fundamental aspect of physics and the nature of our planet's movement.
