Flanker Task
The Flanker Task is a psychological test used to measure attention and cognitive control. In this task, participants see a target stimulus, like an arrow, surrounded by other arrows that can point in the same direction (congruent) or the opposite direction (incongruent). Participants are asked to identify the direction of the central arrow as quickly as possible. This setup helps researchers understand how distractions affect our ability to focus and respond, revealing insights into how the brain manages competing information and processes attention in everyday situations.
