Fiedler Contingency Model
The Fiedler Contingency Model is a leadership theory that suggests a leader's effectiveness depends on the match between their leadership style and the situation they are in. It identifies two main leadership styles: task-oriented and relationship-oriented. The model assesses situational factors, such as leader-member relationships, task structure, and the leader's position power, to determine the appropriateness of a leader's style. Essentially, Fiedler's model indicates that no single leadership approach is best; success comes from aligning the right leader with the right context to achieve effective outcomes.
