Fairchild Republic

Fairchild Republic was an American aerospace company known primarily for manufacturing military aircraft in the mid to late 20th century. Founded in 1939, it gained fame for producing the A-10 Thunderbolt II, a rugged ground attack aircraft designed for close air support of troops. The A-10 is notable for its distinctive design and the ability to operate in challenging environments. Fairchild Republic was eventually acquired by the defense firm Lockheed Martin in the 1990s, marking the end of its independent operations, but its legacy continues through the aircraft that remain in service today.
