Exploration Mission

Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1) is NASA's first uncrewed test flight of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft. Scheduled for 2023, it aims to demonstrate the capabilities of these technologies before future crewed missions to the Moon and beyond. The mission will involve launching Orion on a journey around the Moon, testing systems in deep space and gathering data. The primary goal is to ensure everything functions correctly and safely, paving the way for human exploration of lunar and Martian environments in the coming years.
