Executive Office for Immigration Review
The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is part of the U.S. Department of Justice that oversees immigration courts and boards of appeals. When someone disagrees with a decision made by immigration officials—like deportation orders or immigration benefits—they can appeal to the EOIR. The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), which is under the EOIR, reviews these cases to ensure fair application of immigration law. Essentially, EOIR provides a judicial process for individuals to contest immigration decisions and seek justice.
