Ethanol production

Ethanol production primarily involves fermenting sugars from crops like corn, sugarcane, or other biomass. These sugars are converted into ethanol and carbon dioxide through the action of yeast or bacteria in a process called fermentation. The mixture is then distilled to separate ethanol from other components, resulting in fuel-grade ethanol. This renewable fuel is used to power vehicles, often blended with gasoline to reduce emissions. The process varies depending on the feedstock but generally follows these steps: feedstock preparation, fermentation, distillation, and dehydration.
