ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) occurs when electricity stored in an object is suddenly released. This can happen when two objects come into contact or are in close proximity, causing a spark or shock. ESD is often experienced as a small static shock when touching metal surfaces after walking on a carpet. While it may be harmless to people, ESD can damage sensitive electronic devices, such as computer components. To prevent ESD damage, precautions like grounding yourself, using special wrist straps, and working on ESD-safe surfaces are essential in environments where electronics are handled.
