Ionization
Ionization is the process of adding or removing electrons from an atom or molecule, resulting in the formation of charged particles called ions. When energy such as heat, light, or radiation is supplied, it can cause an electron to escape from an atom, creating a positively charged ion. Conversely, electrons can be attached to neutral atoms, making negatively charged ions. Ionization is fundamental in many natural and technological processes, including how our bodies process nutrients, how electricity flows in batteries, and how the sun produces light. It essentially transforms particles into charged forms that can interact differently in various environments.
