The Era of Good Feelings refers to a period in American history, mainly during President James Monroe's administration from 1817 to 1825. It was characterized by a sense of national unity and political harmony following the War of 1812. The Federalist Party declined, leaving the Democratic-Republican Party as the dominant force, which reduced partisan conflict. Economic growth, westward expansion, and improvements in infrastructure also contributed to this optimistic atmosphere.
