EMDR Therapy

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy designed to help individuals process traumatic memories. During the sessions, a trained therapist guides the person to recall distressing experiences while simultaneously stimulating both sides of the brain, usually through guided eye movements. This dual process helps to reduce the emotional charge of the memories and fosters healthier cognitive processing. EMDR has been effective for treating PTSD and other trauma-related conditions by allowing individuals to reprocess painful memories, leading to healing and resolution without needing to delve deeply into the details of the trauma.
