Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe is a region that includes countries to the east of Germany, such as Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), and parts of the Balkans. Historically significant, it has been shaped by influences from both Western Europe and Asia. This region experienced major changes after the fall of communism in the late 20th century, leading to the establishment of democracies and market economies. Eastern Europe is known for its rich cultural diversity, historical landmarks, and ongoing political and economic developments as it integrates into the broader European community.
