Jan Amos Comenius

Jan Amos Comenius (1592–1670) was a Czech philosopher and educator considered one of the earliest advocates of modern education. He emphasized the importance of universal education accessible to all children, regardless of background. Comenius believed learning should be based on understanding and experience, advocating for engaging teaching methods. His ideas promoted the use of visual aids, textbooks, and a systematic approach to learning languages. Often called the "father of modern education," he aimed to improve society through better education, emphasizing moral development and lifelong learning.
