De facto Segregation
De facto segregation refers to the natural separation of groups in society that occurs without legal enforcement. Unlike de jure segregation, which is established by law (such as racial segregation laws), de facto segregation arises from social, economic, or cultural factors. For example, neighborhoods may become racially or economically divided due to factors like housing markets, income disparities, and personal choices. This kind of segregation can lead to unequal access to resources such as education, employment, and housing, perpetuating social inequalities even in a context where laws promote equality.
