Danton (Georges Danton)

Georges Danton (1759-1794) was a leading figure in the early stages of the French Revolution. A skilled orator and politician, he co-founded the revolutionary group known as the Cordeliers and became a prominent member of the Committee of Public Safety. Danton was known for his charisma and ability to rally support for revolutionary causes. However, he became a target during the radical phase of the Revolution, particularly under Robespierre's influence. Ultimately, he was arrested and executed by guillotine, symbolizing the Revolution's shift towards internal conflict and the rise of more extreme measures.
