custodial parents

A custodial parent is the parent who has primary physical custody of a child after a separation or divorce. This means the child lives with this parent most of the time and the parent is responsible for day-to-day decisions regarding the child's upbringing, education, and welfare. The custodial parent may receive child support from the non-custodial parent to help cover the costs of raising the child. Custodial arrangements can vary, and in some cases, parents share custody, allowing children to spend significant time with both parents.
