Crocuta crocuta

Crocuta crocuta, commonly known as the spotted hyena, is a large carnivorous mammal native to Africa. Recognizable by its distinctive spotted coat, it is highly social and lives in clans that can include up to 80 individuals. Spotted hyenas are known for their unique vocalizations, often resembling laughter, which they use for communication. They are skilled hunters and scavengers, playing a crucial role in their ecosystems by helping to control animal populations.
