COPDGene Study
The COPDGene Study is a major research project aimed at understanding Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a serious lung condition that makes it hard to breathe. Launched in 2007, the study collects genetic, environmental, and clinical data from thousands of participants, including smokers and non-smokers. Its goal is to identify the causes of COPD, discover new treatment options, and improve patient care by examining how genes and lifestyle factors influence the disease. Ultimately, the insights gained from the study aim to enhance our understanding of COPD and help those affected lead better lives.
