Airway disease

Airway disease involves problems with the tubes (airways) that carry air in and out of the lungs. It includes conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which cause inflammation, narrowing, or obstruction of these airways. This leads to symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. Factors like allergies, smoking, or pollution can worsen these conditions. Treatment aims to reduce inflammation, open airways, and manage symptoms, helping individuals breathe more comfortably and improve their quality of life.
