Cones

Cones are specialized cells in your retina—located at the back of your eye—that detect color and help you see fine detail. They function best in bright light conditions. There are three types of cones, each sensitive to different wavelengths of light: red, green, and blue. The brain combines signals from these cones to produce the full spectrum of colors you perceive. Cones are essential for activities like reading, recognizing faces, and enjoying vibrant scenes, providing sharpness and color clarity to your vision.
