Cohort Theory
Cohort Theory examines the behavior, attitudes, and characteristics of specific groups of people (cohorts) born during the same time period. It suggests that experiences shared by a cohort, such as historical events, cultural shifts, or technological changes, shape their beliefs and actions throughout their lives. For example, baby boomers, who grew up during post-war prosperity, may have different values than millennials, who experienced the rise of the internet. By studying these differences, researchers can better understand societal trends and predict future behaviors based on the unique circumstances each group faced during formative years.
