Coal

Coal is a natural fossil fuel formed from the remains of ancient plants over millions of years. It is primarily composed of carbon and is used mainly as an energy source for electricity generation and industrial processes. When burned, coal releases heat, which can be used to produce steam and drive turbines for power production. Though it has historically been a key energy source, coal is also a significant contributor to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, many countries are shifting towards cleaner energy alternatives to combat climate change.
