Clotting Factor

Clotting factors are specific proteins in the blood that help control bleeding. When you get a cut or injury, these factors work together in a complex process called coagulation to form a blood clot, which stops the bleeding and begins healing. There are several clotting factors, each identified by a number (like Factor I, Factor II, etc.), and they interact in a precise sequence. If there’s a deficiency or malfunction in any of these factors, it can lead to excessive bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia, or unwanted clotting, increasing the risk of conditions like heart attacks or strokes.
