closed society

A closed society is a social system where access to information, ideas, and communication is restricted. In such societies, the government or ruling authority controls the flow of information, limiting individual freedoms and discouraging dissent. Citizens often have limited exposure to outside influences, which can lead to a lack of critical thinking and a uniform way of thinking. Open debate is discouraged, and alternative viewpoints may be censored. Examples of closed societies include authoritarian regimes where the state tightly regulates media, education, and personal expression, preventing citizens from fully participating in or understanding their own society and the world.
