Christopher Columbus: The Four Voyages

Christopher Columbus completed four significant voyages across the Atlantic Ocean in the late 15th century. His first voyage in 1492 aimed to find a westward route to Asia but instead led him to the islands of the Caribbean, including present-day Bahamas. Subsequent voyages (1493, 1498, 1502) explored parts of Central and South America. Columbus's expeditions opened the Americas to European exploration and eventual colonization, profoundly impacting world history. However, his legacy is complex, as it also involved the exploitation and suffering of indigenous populations.
