Choriocarcinoma

Choriocarcinoma is a type of cancer that usually arises from cells that develop during pregnancy, particularly from placental tissue. It's considered a gestational trophoblastic neoplasm, meaning it originates from tissues that help support a developing fetus. This cancer can develop after a normal pregnancy, miscarriage, or abortion. Symptoms may include abnormal bleeding and elevated levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG in non-pregnant women. While it’s a rare form of cancer, it is highly treatable with chemotherapy, especially if detected early. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for better outcomes.
