chemical diffusion

Chemical diffusion is the process by which molecules spread from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Imagine dropping a dye into water; at first, the color is concentrated in one spot, but over time, the dye disperses evenly throughout the water. This movement happens because molecules are constantly in motion and naturally seek to balance concentrations. Diffusion occurs in gases, liquids, and solids and is essential in various biological and chemical processes, such as how oxygen moves from the air into our bloodstream.
