Cervarix

Cervarix is a vaccine designed to protect against certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV), primarily HPV 16 and 18, which are responsible for most cervical cancers. It works by stimulating the immune system to create antibodies that recognize these HPV types, reducing the risk of infection and related health issues. The vaccine is typically given in two doses for young adolescents and three for older individuals. Cervarix is most effective when administered before any sexual activity, as it prevents initial infection. It also offers some protection against other HPV types linked to cervical and other cancers.
