Catalan language
Catalan is a Romance language primarily spoken in Catalonia, a region in northeastern Spain, as well as in parts of Valencia, the Balearic Islands, and northern Catalonia in France, and the eastern part of Andorra, where it is the official language. It shares similarities with Spanish, French, and Italian, but has its own unique grammar and vocabulary. Catalan is an important part of the cultural identity for millions of speakers and is used in education, literature, and daily communication. The language plays a significant role in regional politics and the promotion of cultural heritage.
