Care Leavers

Care leavers are young adults who have spent time in the foster care system or residential care after being removed from their families for various reasons, such as abuse or neglect. When they reach a certain age, typically 18, they transition out of the care system and must navigate independent living. This period can be challenging, as they often lack the support networks that others have, making it difficult to access education, employment, and stable housing. Support services and programs are in place to help care leavers successfully integrate into society and achieve their personal and professional goals.
