Cardiac Sarcoidosis

Cardiac sarcoidosis is a condition where small clusters of inflammatory cells, called granulomas, form in the heart tissue. This can disrupt the heart's normal functions and potentially lead to serious issues like arrhythmias, heart failure, or even sudden cardiac death. The exact cause is unknown, but it’s believed to involve an abnormal immune response. Symptoms can include fatigue, shortness of breath, or irregular heartbeats. Diagnosis often involves imaging tests and sometimes a biopsy. Treatment may include medications to reduce inflammation and manage symptoms, focusing on improving heart function and quality of life.
