Candida

Candida is a type of yeast that naturally exists in small amounts in our bodies, especially in the mouth, gut, and skin. It usually doesn’t cause problems, but if it grows too much, it can lead to infections known as candidiasis. Common symptoms include itching, discomfort, and unusual discharge in areas like the mouth (thrush) or the genital region (yeast infections). Factors such as weakened immune systems, antibiotics, and diabetes can contribute to an overgrowth of Candida. Treatment often involves antifungal medications and maintaining a balanced diet to prevent recurrences.
