Canalith Repositioning
Canalith repositioning is a treatment for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a condition that causes dizziness with certain head movements. It involves a series of specific head and body movements performed by a healthcare provider to help reposition tiny calcium crystals (canaliths) that have become dislodged in the inner ear. By guiding these crystals back to their correct location, the treatment aims to alleviate the spinning sensation and restore balance. This process is usually quick and can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life by reducing vertigo episodes.
