Canaanites

The Canaanites were an ancient people who lived in the region of Canaan, which roughly corresponds to modern-day Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, and parts of Syria and Jordan. They thrived around 3000 to 1200 BCE, engaging in agriculture, trade, and pottery. The Canaanites practiced polytheism, worshipping multiple gods, and they had a rich culture with advancements in writing and urban development. Their cities, such as Jericho and Ugarit, were significant trade centers. The Canaanites are also mentioned in various ancient texts, including the Bible, where they interacted with neighboring peoples, including the Israelites.
