Burhan Wani

Burhan Wani was a young leader of the militant group Hizbul Mujahideen in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Born in 1994, he gained prominence through social media, which he used to appeal to youth and convey his views against Indian rule in the region. Wani was killed by Indian security forces in July 2016, an event that sparked widespread protests and unrest in Kashmir.
