Buffer Cache

A Buffer Cache is a temporary storage area in a computer's memory that holds data actively being used or recently accessed from the hard drive. By keeping this data close at hand, the system can quickly retrieve it without the slower process of accessing the hard drive every time. This improves performance because accessing data from memory is much faster than from a hard drive. Essentially, it's like a waiting room where frequently needed information is kept ready for instant access, speeding up operations and improving overall efficiency.
