Breakthrough Starshot

Breakthrough Starshot is a space exploration initiative aiming to send tiny, light-powered spacecraft to the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, within a couple of decades. The project proposes using powerful lasers on Earth to propel these small "StarChips," equipped with cameras and sensors, at speeds up to 20% the speed of light. This journey could take around 20 years, allowing us to gather data about other stars and potentially habitable planets. The ultimate goal is to explore the cosmos and answer fundamental questions about life beyond Earth.
