Bowlby-Ainsworth Attachment Framework
The Bowlby-Ainsworth attachment framework explores how early relationships with caregivers shape our emotional and social development. John Bowlby proposed that a strong emotional bond between a child and caregiver is crucial for healthy growth. Mary Ainsworth expanded on this through her "Strange Situation" study, identifying three primary attachment styles: secure, anxious, and avoidant. Secure attachment leads to better emotional regulation and relationships, while anxious and avoidant styles can create challenges in forming bonds later in life. This framework helps us understand how early experiences influence behavior and relationships throughout a person’s life.
