Bone Healing Process

Bone healing is a natural process that occurs after a fracture. It unfolds in several stages: 1. **Inflammation**: Right after the break, blood clots form and inflammation occurs, which helps to prevent infection and begins healing. 2. **Soft Callus Formation**: Over days to weeks, a soft tissue bridge, made of collagen and cartilage, forms around the fracture. 3. **Hard Callus Formation**: Gradually, this soft callus is replaced by new bone tissue, creating a hard callus over several weeks to months. 4. **Remodeling**: Finally, the bone remodels itself over time, strengthening and reshaping to restore normal function.
