Block devices
Block devices are types of storage that manage data in fixed-size chunks, or "blocks." This allows data to be read or written efficiently, as the system can quickly access these blocks individually. Common examples of block devices include hard drives and SSDs (solid-state drives), which store files and programs for computers. Unlike file systems that deal with data as streams, block devices interface at a lower level, making them suitable for tasks requiring quick access and manipulation of data, such as operating systems and databases.
