Biological Exposure Indices (BEIs) are reference values used to help assess the level of exposure to certain harmful substances in the workplace. They represent the amount of a chemical or its metabolites found in biological samples, like blood or urine, after exposure. BEIs serve as benchmarks to determine if an individual's exposure is within safe limits or if further action is needed.
