Bharatiya Jana Sangh

The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was a political party in India, founded in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mukherjee. It aimed to promote Hindu nationalism and cultural pride, advocating for Indian unity and governance based on traditional values. The party sought to address social issues and economic development while opposing the partition of India and encouraging a strong national identity. In 1977, it merged with several other parties to form the Janata Party, but its influence continued as it laid the groundwork for the modern Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which currently plays a significant role in Indian politics.
